Low - The Great Destroyer

Dave Fridmann produces the new Low, Mercury Rev, and Sleater-Kinney albums.

TV On the Radio - Desperate Youths, Bloodthirsty Babes

TV On The Radio’s Desperate Youths, Bloodthirsty Babes, co-mixed and recorded by Paul Mahajan, goes on to win the Shortlist Music Prize. Paul also recorded The National's acclaimed new album Alligator.

Modern Dog - That Song Tony Doogan produces Modern Dog, whose single "Found" goes to #1 in their native Thailand.
Rogue Wave - Out Of The Shadow Bill Racine continues to receive great notice for his work on Rogue Wave’s debut album for Sub Pop.
The Clash - Give em' Enough Rope Sandy Pearlman continues to push the envelope (as he has always done as producer of the Blue Oyster Cult, The Clash, and The Dictators) by proposing to combat illegal file sharing by selling all songs for 5 cents.
Grand Mal - Bad Timing Bill Whitten puts the finishing touches on the next Grand Mal album after the critically acclaimed Bad Timing (Arena Rock).
Mercury Rev - The Secret Migration Dave Fridmann earns even more cred through his work on the new albums by indie superstars Low (Sub Pop) and Sleater-Kinney (Sub Pop).  He has put his stamp on another amazing Mercury Rev album, The Secret Migration (V2).  He is working on the surround sound remix of The Flaming Lips Soft Bulletin (Warner Bros.) after the completion of the acclaimed surround sound mix of The Lips’ Yoshimi.  And he attracts even more than usual attention for his work on the latest Phantom Planet (Epic) album.
The National - Alligator After 2003’s brilliant Young Liars EP, Paul Mahajan continues his work with TV on the Radio on the Short List Music Prize winner Desperate Youth, Bloodthirsty Babes and on the new single “New Health Rock.”  Having worked with the cream of the new New York rock scene in 2003 (TVOTR, Yeah Yeah Yeah’s and Liars), he has continued working with up and coming NYC based artists including the introspective The National (Beggars Banquet), PS (led by Irish singer/ songwriter/rocker Patrick Savage) and the electronic Burnside Project.
The Delgados - Universal Audio Tony Doogan traveled to Thailand to produce native superstars Modern Dog, and ended up with a #1 single ("Found").  He also continued his longtime collaboration with fellow Glaswegians The Delgados on their new critically acclaimed album, Universal Audio (Chemikal Underground) as well as Belle & Sebastian’s critically and commercially successful Dear Catastrophe Waitress (Rough Trade), which just achieved gold status, and its various singles.  He also spent some time up at Dave Fridmann’s Tarbox Road Studios producing and recording the new album by Lake Trout (Rx / Palm Pictures).  And he also produced and mixed UK indie sensation The Research (At Large/ EMI) and Seachange.
Stubbs The Zombie - Aspyr Besides getting props for his work on Rogue Wave’s debut album (Sub Pop), Bill Racine has been busy recording some of NYC’s finest up and coming bands, including Mercury Rev offshoots Hopewell and Silent League offshoots Loaded Dreams.  He still shuttles up to Dave Fridmann’s Tarbox Studios on occasion to work with the likes of Mark Gardener (from Ride) and will do live sound (The Flaming Lips’s appearance on Late Night With Conan O’Brien).  And he just completed a new Rogue Wave track for the Stubbs The Zombie videogame (Aspyr) and soundtrack (which will also feature the music of The Flaming Lips, Death Cab For Cutie, The Walkmen, etc.). Bill just entered the studio to work on the next Rogue Wave album.
Blue Oyster Cult - Agents of Fortune Sandy Pearlman is currently serving as the technology mastermind to various internet companies and is a visiting scholar at McGill University while continuing to run San Francisco bay area studio Alpha & Omega. Sandy continues to seek out young artists to work with who can have an impact on rock history (as did his past collaborations with Blue Oyster Cult, The Clash and The Dictators).
Here's what the critics have to say about Grand Mal's Bad Timing.
New York Times:
"Grand Mal mixes three parts Rolling Stones, one part Velvet Underground and the wit to come up with lines like, "I'm going home I can't sit still/When I'm with you I feel incurably ill," for rock with an unabashed swagger."
Pitchfork:  8.0 out of 10.0
NME:  8 out of 10
Kerrang:  4 out of 5 K’s
Uncut:   4 out of 5 *’s
Lost at Sea: "without a doubt one of the best releases of 2003"
Cream Online: “Bad Timing is one of the best albums of the year and will more than likely turn out to be the trash-rock album of 2003.”
